Known for its grab and go healthy meals, delicious coffee and salad bar Origin Coffee in Uptown is getting a facelift. After just 11 months in the neighborhood, the place I shared with you back in January is going full-service and bringing the booze.
On Friday, October 18, Origin Natural Food on McKinney Ave. will temporarily close its doors and reopen later this year as Origin Kitchen + Bar. The new concept will be a casual fine-dining restaurant for dinner service featuring an open kitchen and full bar. Origin Kitchen + Bar will also feature a separate breakfast and lunch menu with a coffee and espresso bar.
“After 9 months in operation we have grown a strong and loyal customer base, and we are excited to offer them the same quality service with an expanded food menu in a full service restaurant with an open-kitchen concept,” said co-owner Jessica Myers.
While I hate to see the store close, I’m sure that in 2 short months the buzz will still be strong for Origin. When it does reopen, the redesigned Origin Kitchen + Bar will offer made-to-order breakfast and lunch, while keeping the same expansive and high-quality coffee bar selection. Guests will be welcome to take their food and coffee to go, or to sit and enjoy at a table in the restaurant.
See you in December, Origin!
