Sneak Peek: Chino Chinatown

I was invited in to the most anticipated restaurant in Oak Cliff yesterday, Chino Chinatown at Trinity Groves, and I could hardly contain myself. Uno Immanivong and Adrian Verdin have been working tirelessly alongside Studio 11 Design to create a Latin-Asian fusion restaurant, set to open its doors on Monday, December 30.

Upon entering the space, you’re greeted by massive wooden doors. Step inside and take in the Chino Chinatown goddess mural on the back wall, the red rope beams that hang from high ceilings and the fire engine red bar stools that beckon you in for a libation. The colors red and yellow play strongly to creating an ambiance. They’re used in the large booth banquet tables, the family style 12 seater rounder and the flames that come out of the open kitchen.

Chino’s bar program is run by Ian Reilly who crafted a list of drinks that will need close inspection and major sipping action. As for the food, Immanivong has drawn inspiration from past culinary experience and modern fusion. Here’s a first look at some of the dishes and drinks diners are soon to enjoy at Chino Chinatown:
