I received the ominous email from Sfuzzi management earlier this evening:
“All good things come to an end and it is time to say goodbye to Sfuzzi Uptown in its current location. Tomorrow evening will be the last night that we are open at 2533 McKinney Ave for the “FINALE” on New Years Eve.
A sincere thank you to the tremendous amount of love and support you have shown us over the past 3 and a half years. From our staff both current and past who put in the long brutal hours to make Sfuzzi Uptown all that it was. To everyone who came and enjoyed the restaurant and created so many wonderful memories that will not be forgotten. My hat is off to each and every guest for the way you’ve made me feel and the many nights (some blurry, well most… but not all) that we will always remember.
Tonight will be the last Red Bull Red Monday w/ William H. Bonney so come join us for one last Monday bash followed by the end of it all tomorrow on NYE. I know everyone has plans but try and stop by and say farewell!
Many good things to come in the new year please stay tuned for announcements coming in 2014 of the new location and we hope to see you both tonight and tomorrow night!!”
While Sfuzzi is officially set to close (and reopen) it seems it’s sister restaurant, Pozo Mercado may follow suit. Upon pulling by Pozo earlier this evening, Staff seemed to bet shutting the lights off around 7:15 pm. Our friends over at Oh Hey Dallas were the first to suspect something after noting that all of the electrics on the inside were unplugged. Upon further inspection, I noticed the menu board on the front of the restaurant and a pitch black interior. An Eat Style Dallas reader tipped us off to the inability to make future reservations for Pozo on OpenTable as well.
More to come…
