Dallas Art Fair Offers an Eyeful at The Joule

Last night a list of lucky guests and Dallas friends of the arts were treated to windy weather fun in Downtown Dallas. The Joule Hotel hosted a cocktail party in celebration of the sixth annual Dallas Art Fair at the Eye sculpture by Tony Tasset.

The event capped a week long list of art centric happenings that proved that Dallas truly is a center for fans of the artistic movement. Though it was a windy night, locals and fashionable visitors alike showed up to celebrate in style.

Dallas’ art elite were treated to a DJ performance by artist Andrew Kuo, live graffiti painting by the Sour Grapes Collective, and a video projection of artist Jacolby Satterwhite’s Country Ball 1989-2012. The lively space and performances were punctuated by equally creative hors d’oeuvres including brisket doughnuts, miniature soba salads, and raw bar selections passed by cigarette girls, among others. Beverages of the night were true to The Joule’s elevated sensibilities with craft brews, toothsome wines, inspired cocktails, and miniature soda creams. Of course, Tasset’s Eye sculpture was the star of the show.
Guests were seen snapping selfies with the oversized iris throughout the party and painted models paraded around the partygoers almost camouflaged into the night.
The Dallas Art Fair concludes today and is located at the Fashion Industry Gallery at 1807 Ross Avenue, Dallas, TX 75201 For more on tickets, click here.
