Everywhere you look theres a pouted face puckering up for a selfie, posing for the perfect shot or just showing some insta-love. It seems in Dallas that there are a certain locations that attract these types of photos more than others. So, without further adieu I give you my top insta-worthy places in Dallas in no particular order.
Crushcraft Thai – Those in the know have visited this new edition to Uptown Dallas’ Quadrangle area. Serving up Thai street eats like the ‘OG Phat Thai’ (rice noodle, chicken, tofu, tamarind, bean sprouts & garnish, lime wedge and toasted peanuts), it’s a casual scene with serious flavor. The photos however, come from a place where if the Texas heat won’t get to you is perfect for taking it all in. This photographic wonder comes courtesy of the outdoor patio.
Pecan Lodge – Recently relocated, this Dallas BBQ landmark has become a drool worthy photo op not to be missed. Whether you’re line gazing after 2 hours or settled in with a tray full of the good stuff in front of you, it’s tough not to snap a picture and post for all to see.
Katy Trail Running Path – Quintessentially known for its bountiful amounts of fit Dallasites, the Katy Trail makes my list because of its attraction for selfies. Like a moth to a flame, runners or not, this tree lined training run turns into a catwalk most weekends and evenings. Shameless pictures posted to your social feed (like the one below from Instagram user @aegorov5) don’t let you forget it either!
Klyde Warren Park (and Savor Gastropub) – Since it’s opening, the park over the busy highway has become a go to spot for EDM music, outdoor movie watchers, kids and fitness fanatics. With its lush green lawns, a restaurant patio overlooking the action and bevy of activities to take part in, the park has become a canvas for insta users of all sorts.
John F. Kennedy Memorial – A Presidential legacy lives on in the bustling Downtown Dallas district. The somber spot has taken over my feed numerous times and every time I am awestruck by the calm space that has been created.
Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge – Built just 2 years ago, ‘large Marge’ as she is lovingly referred to as has revolutionized transport to the now popular Trinity Groves and West Dallas corridor. Oh, and she’s real pretty to look at too. Now, which filter to use?
The ‘Eyeball’ Art-piece at The Joule Hotel – The Joule hotel, in collaboration with the Nasher Sculpture Center, brought Tony Tasset’s Eye sculpture to downtown Dallas. With the sculpture came flocks of locals and tourists peeking at the pupil and snapping picture after picture. The result? Eye’ll let you decide.
The final stop on my list? Mutt’s Cantina – Known for it’s dogs, both edible and man’s best friend, this Uptown puppy park has provided the perfect backdrop for photo frenzies. Clientele like Courtney Kerr and her pitbull Fancy, Jesse Metcalfe and Cara Santana all take park in Dallas’ new favorite way to relax with your furry friend.
