Delicious flavors of fresh roasted peppers meeting pizza dough and all your favorite toppings. Do I have your attention? I experienced this culinary euphoria when I dined at Fireside Pies in Dallas recently. The restaurant, a Dallas staple since the 90’s, churns out expertly crafted pizzas, pastas and more on a nightly basis. When I dined with them recently, they had a case of hatch fever and I quickly learned it was contagious.
Cocktails range from a delicious Moscow Mule made with homemade simple syrup to a Strawberry Chamomile Paloma infused with chamomile infused tequila, cocchi Americano, grapefruit, lime and of course strawberries. The sips here made me quite elated as I awaited the food coma soon to ensue. We began with Molten Meatballs bubbling in House made Ragu with Fresh Mozzarella & Toasted Garlic Crostini. Tender mixed and perfectly sized for consumption, I was all about the balls! Needing a fresh green pick up, we decided on the Fireside Cheese Mixed Greens tossed with Chopped Hearts of Romaine & Four Cheese Blend with Roasted Red Pepper Ranchhouse Dressing. Eat this with a friend, the portions are huge!
Fireside Pies is notorious for keeping seasonal flavors as an integral part of their pizza pie program and on this visit, it was all about the hatch chiles famously from New Mexico. We shared the BBQ Hatch Chicken Pie and and Sweet Corn Pie. Both uniquely different, but both definitely tasty! The pies are perfect to split for a table of hungry friends and family and the flavors are subtle enough to blend well with one another.
Our waitress was a true temptress when she offered desserts and the apple streusel season crisp went down without a peep from me or my dining partner. Sweet bliss!
Don’t miss Fireside Pies at any of their several DFW locations because when pizza is this good, it can’t be wrong!
