Nick Jonas & Hilton Make Musical Memories

IMG_5198 IMG_5295 IMG_5318 IMG_5343 FullSizeRender

Last night, approximately 600 screaming fans descended on the Hilton Anatole in Dallas to watch pop superstar Nick Jonas take the stage. The private concert, a part of Hilton Worldwide “Hilton @Play” campaign, took Hilton HHonors awards points and turned them into an unforgettable experience for Jonas fans.

Hilton is setting out to inspire a new, healthier mindset – encouraging people to seek out the unfamiliar, to appreciate a different point of view and to learn from every day experiences and travel moments. That mission begins with the launch of “Hilton at Play,” a global campaign created to connect people with enriching and playful experiences. That’s where Nick Jonas comes into play.

HHonors awards members paid for the experience in points and then received the details of the concert. I’ll admit I didn’t know every single word, but the way Jonas crooned his way through ‘Take Over’, ‘Wilderness’ and hit song ‘Chains’ made me a believer. The ballroom turned concert hall was intimate and majestic as the pop star made his way through the hour long set. The Dallas native spoke few words to the crowd, but when he did the hoards of teen girls and grown women reached new, higher than Texas hair audio levels. Closing the evening with ‘Jealous’, Jonas kindly thanked those in attendance and those watch on social media live-streaming video app, Periscope, as well.

By setting a new precedent in travel experiences, Hilton has made its mark as a culture force to be reckoned with.

Bowl & Barrel Serves Up New Fare and Fun

I slipped off my boots last night and put on a pair of bowling shoes. One of my favorite places to blow off a little steam in Dallas is at Bowl & Barrel, the bowling alley/gastropub concept from the folks who brought you The Rustic and Mutt’s Canine Cantina.

Last night, they invited me in to bowl a few strikes (or at least attempt to) and try out their new food and beverage options. After stuffing my face with a few of their delicious bites and seeing my ball roll down the gutter a few too many times, I’m here to report back. Bowl & Barrel’s German-European infused menu will feature an even wider array of smorgas-boards, sausages, exotic shared plates, sandwiches, salads and more. In addition to these dishes, the boutique bowling alley will introduce several new cocktails to its repertoire.

Here are a few of my favorites to get your mouth watering.

Wagyu Steak & Blue Cheese Sandwich – Baguette, blue cheese mayo, watercress and ale glazed shallots.

Chicken Apple Club Sandwich – On sourdough bread with mayo, lettuce, tomato, avocado, green apples and bacon.

Chicken Salad – Green cabbage, kale, ghost pepper peanuts, fruit chutney, jicama, green apple and curry vinaigrette.

Green Chili Grilled Cheese – Jalapeño cheddar bread, muenster, american & green chili gravy.

Velvet Mule –Tito’s Vodka, Velvet Falernum, ginger beer and lime juice.

French Kiss – Prosecco, St. Germain, lemon juice and house-made Grenadine.

Head in and lace up your bowling shoes because the food that fuels the party is pretty darn fantastic.

Celebrate Super Bowl Sunday!

Instead of sitting over a crockpot of crusty queso and half-eaten frozen buffalo bites, take a tip from me. Sure you’ll wanna stuff your face in comfort, while cheering on the teams that have made their way to the big game after controversy. At least with my line up of celebratory situations you will be doing it in style.

Fright Night Friday with Dear Clark

halloween1IMG_9343 IMG_9344 IMG_9345

It’s all just a bunch of Hocus Pocus after all. This past weekend, I went under the skilled hand of Bria from Dear Clark Hair Studio for a masked makeover. It was a full moon evening when I sat down in the chair and handed over my inspiration. I told her ” I want to pull off a classy ‘Day of the Dead’ look”, and she was off. Dear Clark has been providing makeup for Halloween costumes for the past 2 years, and I knew it would be my first choice when I decided to go all out.

Halloween is decidedly my favorite holiday behind Christmas. I love the opportunity to eat all the candy you can muster while donned in your best ghoulish get up. Professional Halloween makeup is perfect for that party where you want to make the exact right statement and ensure you look different — and a zillion times better — than the rest!

Be sure to plan ahead with these tips:

  • Think about what you want to be ahead of time. Bring in pictures and even your costume.
  • Specific colors you’ve got in mind? Great. Jot those down ahead of time and bring in samples of what those colors look like to you.

Dear Clark will host a spooky Halloween art event on October 30th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Artwork from six unique artists will be on display and available for purchase during the event. A portion of proceeds from art and Dear Clark product sales will go back to ALS.

The event will be complete with music by DJ Jordan Bell, food from Easy Slider, drinks, a performance by the Danielle Georgiou Dance Group, a Costume Contest, and lots of photos!

I was recently invited to be among the first to see the brand new Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition sports car. Now if you know me, speedy vehicles and men’s fashion houses are some of my favorite things. When they come together like this beautiful partnership, I am on cloud nine. The smart design pairing is something you just can help but stop and stare at. From the unmistakable Zegna touches throughout the vehicle, to the sleek lines of the Maserati that purr during the ride. The roof pillars are wrapped in Alcantara that is the same color as the headrests, and the roof and sunshades are lined with gray silk jersey. Labels reading “Ermenegildo Zegna Exclusively for Maserati” are sewn to the sunshades. An aluminum plate bearing the words “Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition One of 100” is affixed to the center console. There was quite a gathering at the Dallas store in Highland Park Village for the grand reveal.

I’m thrilled to partner up with the storied brand to help share the story of how this match came about. A limited series of only 100 cars went into production in July to satisfy demand from the world’s most refined customers. Dallas is getting 1 of those 100 and word is that it’s already been on request for quite some time now. Designed to accompany the much-anticipated Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna the exclusive capsule Collection reflects the heritage, craftsmanship and elegance synonymous with both the Zegna and Maserati brands. In addition to the refined selection of items themselves, the collection features iconic elements such as a personalized Zegna for Maserati selvedge and the Chevron patterned ZegnaSilk used for the interior. The 19-piece Owner’s Collection comes a long with the car for a total value of around $175,000. Pocket change, am I right? Sigh.
